ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Trisha

What are my core values?

Education

Education is important to me because education opens doors for people. Education can be a bridge or an obstacle and I think that everyone should have the right to an education that will enrich their understanding of the world around them and encourage them to be an upstanding and thoughtful person.

Approachability

Approachability is important because it means being someone that makes themselves open to others to seek their assistance, advice, or just simply their company. I want the people i work with including myself to be approachable for any type of conversation, especially because I want to work for middle school students.

Philanthropy

Nothing good comes without hard work and access to resources. With an emphasis on the latter, philanthropy is one of my core values because I believe that everyone should have access to the tools that will help them contribute to society in their own meaningful ways.

Integrity

Integrity means to look at yourself at the end of the day and ask “how can I be better tomorrow”. It means doing the right thing when no one is around. Integrity is vital as a core-value because people and companies who practice integrity are willing to grow through even the toughest of times.

Devotion

Devotion is a core value to me because someone who has devotion will do all in their power to reach their goals. They will be passionate, humble, honest, and dedicated to the work they are doing.

Why I do what I do

The work that I wish to do is centered around acting as a friend, leader, and mentor to middle school aged students. I want to do my part to shape the future to be a more understanding empathetic place for our children to grow up in. I want to be an ally to the underserved communities including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I want to see an end to the disparities between affluent and low income communities so that all students, no matter their background, have the chance to pursue their interests in their educational and ultimately professional journey's.

My Unique Leadership Identities

My identities as an Educator, Mental Health Advocate, and Travel enthusiast help me to stay true to myself as an individual. I believe in the power of experience and the importance of community building through travel and exploration. I believe that it takes a village to raise our next generation and the only way we can properly do that is by maintaining our own mental and physical health while providing the correct tools and resources to our youth to protect and maintain their own health. I believe that education plays a major role in how our youth perceive the world around them and that is why I try to use my identity as an educator to promote the holistic development of my students.
